modern & LATIN

For students aged 6 - 8

Our Ballroom and Latin class is designed for children who have a basic understanding of dance and are ready to further develop the skills introduced in their infant classes.

We focus on teaching correct posture, coordination, partnering skills, and fundamental Ballroom and Latin technique, including steps such as walks, chassés, turns, and rhythmical actions.

For exams in this class, we place emphasis on presentation, style, technique, and enjoyment. Theatrical awards also provide learners with the opportunity to perform solos, as well as duets and trios, encouraging teamwork, confidence, and performance skills.

We focus on learning the basic foundations of dance, including simple steps, coordination, balance, and rhythm, through imaginative exercises and age-appropriate routines. Children are encouraged to explore movement, develop musicality, and learn to move to the beat while improving motor skills and body awareness.

Funky Feet classes emphasise enjoyment, creativity, and participation, helping children develop social skills, listening skills, and confidence while having fun and making new friends.
