modern & stage
For students aged 6 - 8
Our Modern Stage class allows children with a basic understanding of dance to continue to develop their skills already learnt in the infant classes.
We focus on teaching the learner how to execute skips, claps, kicks, leaps and turns to the best of their ability and focus more on the elements of music and understanding the beat values within steps we on learning.
For the exams in this class we focus on presentation, style and fun. Theatrical awards also give the learners the opportunity to perform duets and trios in addition to solos.
drama & dance
For students aged 6 - 8
For Learners who enjoy performing using a range of disciplines, such as acting, singing and dancing. Our drama and dance class combines acting and dancing, with the option of singing.
Similar to devised drama using music and movement, inspiring Learner’s creativity through expression of the three performing arts this class is an exciting introduction to movement for Theatre.
Learners will connect with their class mates, develop characterisations, discover the creative process linking movement and words, which can be spoken or sung, by devised ensemble.
FREESTYLE
For students aged 3 and above
Freestyle Dance started in 1977, when it came about, it gave young people the opportunity to dance without a partner, and move to modern music. Freestyle is the umbrella for many of the dance styles surrounding us today with it is still being as popular today, as it was way back in 1977!
Our freestyle classes encourage dancers to develop good poise and posture. Moves include fast spinning, high kicks and isolated body actions.
Freestyle Dance allows the dancer freedom to express themselves from within. For those who wish to pursue this form of dance can enter competitions held at both home and abroad. It can be also be used as a step towards entering Stage Schools.
acro classes
For students aged 5 and above
Our Gymnastic Dance / Acro classes incorporate gymnastic tricks with dance and are designed to develop strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination and technique.
The work is designed to encourage all students develop confidence and dance quality together with increasing flexibility and mobility. The syllabus we use is validated by Ofqual and Ucas points are available for the Intermediate qualification as with most of our classes.
Gymnastic Dance / Acro is extremely popular with students. The extra class helps to benefit children who are already studying dance, giving them an extra edge when presented with chances to be flexible within upcoming shows & performances.
