Contemporary dance emerged in the 1950’s, after the modern movement and post-modern movement, combining elements of modern dance and classical ballet.
Our chosen examination board, The National Association of Teachers of Dancing was the first awarding organisation to offer a graded syllabus.
Within our contemporary classes we focus on contact work between dancers, release technique, fall and recovery, floorwork, improvisation and creative freedom to provide all students an excellent basic knowledge of Contempoary.

Classes
For students aged 8 - 18.
Commercial dance represents a wide variety of dance styles, including modern, jazz, hip-hop, breakdancing, and more. The choreography for commercial dance is typically used for concerts, music videos, television shows, movies, amongst others.
It is the most popular style of dance within our school but also the most intricate. The timing, flow and delivery of each move is paramount to the section which in itself will be paramount to the final routine.
These classes involve lots of body conditioning which targets the whole body. It focuses on developing strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility to assist with a strong performance.
